Alone

Written 14/2/2004

Alone, alone, we stand alone.

Trapped alone in a human mind.

Crisp and fresh, specks of coal.

Wisps of smoke, the human soul.

Alone, alone, we breathe alone.

In rain or shine, in spring or storm.

Lies, all lies, this love, this pain,

Life, it dies, we cry in vain.

Distraught alone, in thought alone.

In joy alone, in pain alone.

Me, just me says the human mind.

All else a mirage, so leave it behind

Give me one truth, I will give you ten lies.

Give me your heart, I will not give you mine.

Bleed out your faults, to mine you are blind.

Give me your hand, so I may leave you behind.
